Final Project (Karamat Watan)

Today, Dr. Eisa Al Nashmi helped us to make the project as good as possible. We worked on the website that talked about Karamat Watan Protest and Kuwait Elections 2012.

You can check it from here Karamat Watan and hope you will like it.

Finally, my last project in Mutimedia course is done and I admit it I learned a lot through out the class discussions and the assignments which were about many topics such as blogging, audio editing and soundslides; in addition to the great experience of the course itself. Dr. Eisa spent a lot of time in and outside the class to help us in using the new multimedia tools and be prepared to use it in an effective way at work.

It was one of the best courses I took in Kuwait University.

In the elections and Karamat Watan protest some interviews were done to take some opinions. The graph was also done by our group to compare the results with the past years.

We are still doing some meetings and working hard on the project.

Final Project … Karamat Watan

At the end of Multimedia Journalism class, Dr. Eisa discussed the final project which is a group work about a public case in Kuwait. We (me, Suad, Sara and Dalal) decided to cover Karamat Watan protest (people against the election) and the election day.

Each one of us started to take photos for people as possible, so we could cover the events. it’s worth to mention that there were many people participated in the protest.

Usage of Social Media Network

Social media networks have already got the interests of not only young people but also adult people all over the world. It is the best way to stay up to date with everything happening in the world, besides it’s advantage in getting any information within a second.

In Kuwait University, some Sociology professors have done a study about the usage of social media networks as Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to show the difference between male and female usage of these websites. The study was published in AlQabas Kuwait Newspapers on 6th of November 2012.

To see the study click here

The results proved that males use social media networks more than females; however, both males and females depends on twitter at most in comparison with the other networks. To be specific, males use in average Twitter 55.4 % , Facebook 8.8 % and Youtube 10.7 % while females use it as following  Twitter 38.8 % Facebook 3.4 % and Youtube 9.3 %. Day With A Teacher

After two weeks of hard working on the soundslide assignment, finally it’s ready and you can check it from the below link:

Day With A Teacher

It’s talking about a nursery teacher who spends about 8 hours daily with children teaching them the principles of the English, Mathematics and Science in very primary and simple ways.

She discussed that working with children gives a very positive energy but at the same time it has difficulties specially in forcing them to be quite and listen to what the teacher says; in addition to parents worries about their children educational levels.

The time we spent at the nursery gave me an idea about the responsibilities of being a teacher. It is very important to be patient and strict in a friendly way with the children otherwise they will be out of control. It was a great experience and an impressive one.

Capturing photos of children was not that easy because we couldn’t force them to do a certain poses; however, natural photos were the best. Managing the voice with the photos went smoothly and didn’t take much time from us.

Topic was Changed

As I said in the previous post that the assignment was supposed to be about a successful student at Kuwait University but she apologized at the same day of the appointment which means we (me and Souad) don’t have a topic again.

The deadline is on Wednesday, so we did a quick brainstorm that led us to Marafi Nursery. Our appointment is tomorrow, hope it will work …

I will keep you updated with my posts.

Soundslide Assignment

These days I am working on soundslide assignment which is a group work done by me and my friend Souad Bajai.

First of all, we planned to do the assignment about Bayt Abdullah but unfortunately they cancelled the appointment due to a parent complaint in the conference that was made before the selected day as we discussed with Dr. Eisa Al Nashmi.

After the appointment’s cancellation we faced a big problem with the topic specially we only have one week to finish the soundslide; besides, many organizations was not cooperative with us.

Finally, we decided to do the assignment about a successful student at Kuwait University who was able to do many achievements despite her Cerebral Palsy sickness.

Her mother was very nice, friendly and didn’t mind to do the assignment about her daughter.
